Dear Translators,
Happy International Translation Day!
May your vocabulary be as abundant as the stars in the sky, may your memory be as fresh as a daisy and may your brain never announce a strike on the eve of a deadline!
You bring diverse and distant cultures closer together and make the world a friendlier place to live.
Translators, you rock!
We extend our best wishes also to friends and families of translators:
*To all, who at least once in their lives were asked, ‘Do you mind having a quick look at my translation?’ And then given a 300-page print-out 🙂 ;
*To all, who in the middle of a conversation noticed their interlocutor-translator’s eyes becoming hazy (a sign that their mind has drifted off to the latest translation project left in their office);
*To all, whose plans for the weekend or holiday had to be changed, because their companion-translator received an urgent, last-minute job.
Dear families and friends of translators, thank you for your support and understanding.
And last but not least:
Our readers – happy International Translation Day to you too!
You are the reason writers write and translators translate.
Have a great day everyone!
